Katie encourages volunteers to support youths’ exploration of STEM topics and careers. Born and raised in the Twin Cities metro, Katie realized the importance of relationship building with the community while volunteering as an English teacher in Costa Rica. Back in the U.S, she worked with community members at risk of housing instability. Her experiences motivated her to center the volunteer program on understanding and encouraging youth curiosity. Outside of work, Katie brushes up on her Spanish-language and karaoke skills. She also enjoys walking around the lakes of the Twin Cities with her family and friends.
